Choosing the Right Flyer Design For You

When promoting a new business or product through the use of flyers, there are number of factors that are worth considering; cost, design, and quantity are just some of the issues that need considering. This article will offer some advice as to how to select the ideal design for you.
With many of these issues there is one factor that impacts on all, cost. In terms of how much outlay you are willing to give to producing flyers depend entirely on what outcome you are hoping to achieve, for example a new business would be looking to establish a reputable and trustworthy image, so opting for the cheapest possible design and printing options in favour of mass production may not be the most suitable option available.
However there are ways of reducing cost and producing a large number of flyers for mass distribution, for example there are options for printing on A5 instead of A4 with the same quality printing would produce twice as many flyers from the same amount of paper, and thus reducing cost significantly. It is even possible to print on A6 sized paper, although considerations will need to be given to the design as smaller text may be unreadable. Larger sizes are often available commonly up to A3 but again this would affect cost, although it may be a good idea to use a folded design, but this depend on what information you are trying to convey and who the message is aimed at.
In terms of printing options, digital printing is generally cheaper than Litho printing, however if you require larger quantities then digital printing would be unsuitable and it would be far more cost effective to opt for litho printing options. Remember that a flyer is for mass distribution and to convey a quick message so too much information could result in the finished flyer looking untidy and unattractive, this would affect the response rate severely. In terms of turnaround times, digital printing is much quicker often as low as 24 hours in some cases, whilst Litho printing takes longer, typically 5-7 days, but is more suitable to larger runs and results in a higher quality finish.
Other considerations should be given to paper quality, silk and matt options give a high end impression to the reader, it may also be an option to print double sided; this again gives a more trustworthy look but again would be more expensive than single sided printing.
