Learn the iPad and you will see how truly amazing this product
is. So you went out and spent at least 600 dollars on one of the world's
best selling gadgets, now what? Sure it can play games and you can
watch movies on it, but have you ever thought what the iPad is really
capable of? What power it really harnesses? If you learn the iPad you
will unlock its real potential.
Learn the iPad with a couple of important features all iPad users should know.
Keyboard Shortcuts
Some people find using the on screen keyboard of the iPad is a bit time consuming but did you know you can split the iPad's keyboard in to two parts by simply taking your two thumbs and placing them on top of the keyboard and pulling outwards to the edge of the screen. This allows you to hold the iPad with two hands and use both thumbs to type.
The.com key on the iPad's keyboard is very convenient, I think it should be a standard key on all keyboards. But did you know if you hold down the.com button you can get even more URL extensions like .edu, .net, and .org, making it even quicker to type in and get to the website even quicker.
Do Not Disturb
Did you know that there is a Do Not Disturb setting? Simply by tapping on the Settings Icon, then tapping the Notifications tab. Here you will find the Do Not Disturb tab. Tap it. This opens the Do Not Disturb settings. Here you can schedule a time of day to turn it on and turn it off ahead of time. So say you have a Big Business Meeting brunch at 10:00 am that's going to last about an hour and a half and you can't have any distractions (Alerts) from say an app called Words With Friends telling you its your turn to go.
Another great option in this tab is the Allow Calls From setting. So even if you have the Do Not Disturb Setting turned on you can still get that important phone call from your Wife, Daughter, Son, and Husband. Just tap the Allow Calls From tab and then select the group of people you would like to still be able to get through to you.
Also in the Do Not Disturb tab is another setting for Repeated Calls. If turned on, if a person tries to Face Time you two times within three minutes the second attempt will not be silenced.
To turn on Do Not Disturb feature just click the Settings app icon and tap the slider right next to the feature.
Capture a Moment
About a year ago I took the time to actually learn the iPad and found many neat tricks like this one. By pressing the Power button and the Home button (the little button below the screen) at the same time you can capture anything on your screen. I mean anything no matter if it is just a picture you seen on Facebook or a recipe you saw at website. Once you press those two buttons at the same time anything on your screen becomes a picture. I was actually watching a movie on Netflix and pressed those two buttons at the same time on accident and was amazed that it even took a still picture from the movie I was watching. All of these photos are stored right in the same spot your regular camera photos are stored. I find this very convenient.
